PURPOSE:To make film forming uniform by supporting a divider belt by means of a supporting body which does not cross the surface of a liq. developing a monomolecular film in a bath contg. the liq. in an apparatus for preparing a Langmuir Blodgett film and dividing and restricting the inside of the bath to a developing region. CONSTITUTION:An appropriate region of the surface 11 of water phase is surrounded by means of a divider belt 6 in a water bath 1 to divide a developing region for a Langmuir-Blodgett film and the area is held and made controllable. In addition, the divider belt 6 is held by a supporting body 7 consisting of a supporting column and a supporting arm 8. This supporting column 9 is divided into two up and down in such a way that the two part are faced by placing the surface 11 of the water phase between them and the distance is set about 0.5-2cm. In addition, the supporting arm 8 is supported by means of a movable arm to move the supporting column 9 to a specified position. This arm 21 is driven by means of a horizontally movable mechanism 22.
