The invention relates to the use, as a thickening agent in solutions of surface-active agents, of aminopolyol carbamates corresponding to the general formula: <IMAGE> in which: R1 represents a saturated C8-C13 linear alkyl; R2 represents hydrogen or a C1-C10 alkyl; n is between 1 and 5. The invention also relates to washing and/or cleansing compositions containing surface-active agents and these compounds.
