Continuous press for laminates - has array of pressure sensors to regulate press quality and correct press alignment

The laminates are fed between continuous feed steel foils which are passed between upper- and lower press arrays and which are spatially heated to control the workpiece quality- and thickness. The press is processor (9) controlled with an array of pressure sensors (8) between the rams and the foils. The rams (6) press the heated pressure mat (5) via an array of I profile supports (7) to which the strain gauges are fitted. The sensors are linked to the processor, as are sensors for temperature, feed rate etc. to provide a rapid process control. ADVANTAGE - No mechanical moving sensors, simple process control.
