The transport chassis comprises two L-shaped frames (8) not rigidly joined together and with arms (9,10) extending to front and rear. The pivot axis passes through the points, at the top, where the arms join. Wheels (18,19) are mounted at the free ends of the arms and are driven by separate electric motors (22). These both drive and steer the chair. The wheels can be coupled together by V2-belts (20), with protruding teeth (21) on their outside surfaces. ADVANTAGE - Simplicity, and allows travelling up and down stairs without difficulty, discomfort or the need for skill.
