INTEGRATED AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY A filter assembly (8) comprising: first and second compartments (18,20), the first compartment (18) comprising an exit tube (28), the second compartment comprising an air inlet (102) the exit tube comprises a plurality of radial inwardly extending stand-offs (40); an air flow sensor (50) for sensing the mass of air exiting the exit tube, including an exit conduit (52) adapted to be received upon and supported by the stand-offs (40); the exit conduit (52) and exit tube (28) cooperating to form a tuner inlet passage (60), the air flow sensor (50) further including an entrance conduit (56), positioned upstream of the exit conduit (52); an insert (80, 240) comprising tapered walls (82) including first and second ends (84,86), the first end (84) defining an opening (85) conformal to a first open end (30) of the first housing member (10) and adapted to be joined therewith, the second end (86) defining a hollow sleeve (90) of substantially the same size as the entrance conduit (56) and adapted to sealingly mate therewith; thereby enclosing, in cooperation with the first compartment (18) a tuner volume (92) communicated with the tuner inlet passage (60); an air filter (100) positioned upon the insert opening (84) for filtering air; a second housing member (14) sealingly engaging the first housing member (12) and spaced from a portion of the air cleaner means (100) to communicate air received from the inlet (102) through the air cleaner means. |
