PURPOSE:To completely protect nozzles by providing a first stopper mechanism that is formed to the protection cover side for enabling the protection cover to be engaged inseparably with an ink cartridge, and also by providing a second stopper mechanism that is formed to the ink cartridge side and is partially engaged with the first stopper mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A carriage that makes horizontal movement over a guide rail fixed to the main body of the title apparatus is provided, and an ink cartridge 12, with an ink jetting means comprising nozzles 6 and heat-generating resistance elements provided integrally thereon, is provided on the carriage so that it can be mounted and dismounted freely. Then, a protection cover 13 that protects the nozzles 6 of the ink cartridge 12 when the ink cartridge 12 is dismounted from the carriage is provided. A stopper claw 20 that enables the protection cover to be engaged inseparably with the ink cartridge 12 is formed to the protection cover 13 side and at the same time, a stopper mechanism 17 that is formed to the ink cartridge 12 side and is partially engaged with the stopper claw 20 is provided, and thereby a protection cover locking mechanism 21 is constructed. |
