OPTICAL FIBER SWITCHING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide an optical fiber switching device which can shorten the non-working time of a communication equipment. CONSTITUTION:This optical fiber switching device switches at least a part of an optical fiber which secures the connection of a communication equipment to another optical fiber and is provided with an alarm collecting point where the fault information on an optical fiber 13 generated by the communication terminals 12a and 12b are collected at a point distant away from the optical fiber switching point. An alarm transfer part 21 is formed at the alarm collecting point and transfers the collected alarms to the switch control point of the optical fiber. A switch control part 22 is formed at the optical fiber switch control point, analyzes the alarm to specify a fault area, and sends a switch trigger to a switching element group connected to the optical fiber stored in the communication equipment when the fault area is specified as an optical fiber section. Then the switching elements 23a and 23b are set at the switching points and receive the switching triggers from the switching control part to switch the faulty optical fiber to the nondefective one.
