PURPOSE:To increase the vertical band width to a still picture area that cannot be detected by a 2-frame differential movement detecting circuit in regard of a MUSE decoder. CONSTITUTION:A movement detecting circuit 42 decides the still pictures, the moving pictures, and the semi-still pictures. A selector circuit 43 selects the signal which undergone the inter-frame/inter-field interpolation processing through an inter-frame/inter-field interpolation processing circuit 11 in regard of a still picture area or the signal which undergone the inter-field/intra-field interpolation processing through an inter-field/intra-field interpolation processing circuit 41 in regard of a semi-still picture area based on the 1st output signal 46 received from the circuit 42. A MIX circuit 15 proportionally mixes together the signal that undergone the intra-field interpolation processing through an intra-field interpolation processing circuit 13 and the signal selected by the circuit 43 based on the 2nd output signal received from the circuit 42. |
