Decoy body for simulating infrared emission of solid warm objects - is made of zeolite powder cloud or powder of similar crystal structure
摘要
Decoy bodies which can simulate the IR emission from solid warm objects are made of zeolite powder or powder of similar crystal structure which picks up air moisture and heats up. The powder particles are so fine that they are suspended in air for a long time and sink to earth only very slowly. The powder may be aluminium phosphate, silicon aluminium phosphate or a zeolite with a low atomic ratio of Si to Al such as zeolite A, X or Y. The zeolite may be dosed with ions or a barrier material to reduce the speed of water pick-up. A salt crust around the zeolite particles can also avoid a rapid heating of the particles. The powder is vacuum and/or protection gas packed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bodies are used as decoys for ships and armoured vehicles. The powder has a spectral distribution of IR radiation of very solid warm objects such as sea and land craft.
