<p>A belt buckle (1) for belt-band restraining systems is described, the shoulder-belt bands (8, 9) of these systems merging into the pelvic belt during their passage through the buckle. The buckle (1) consists of a buckle housing (2) having a locking mechanism and of two belt-band holding pieces (19, 20) insertable into the mechanism, separable from this at the press of a button and each provided with an inclined slot (21, 22) for the passage of the respective belt band. The holding pieces intended to bear against one another form an essentially closed bearing surface. According to the invention, the buckle (1) is characterised in that the two belt-band holding pieces (4, 5) extend, without clearance relative to the buckle housing (2), first along the insertion side (15) and then at least partially along the two longitudinal sides (17, 18) of the buckle housing, and in that the slots (21, 22) of the holding pieces are arranged at an angle of essentially 45 DEG to the central longitudinal axis (16) of the buckle and in such a way that, as seen in lateral projection, they are partially set back relative to the insertion side (15) of the buckle housing (2). …<IMAGE>… </p> |
