Equipment folding in and closing front and rear closing flaps of a packing carton includes stationary folding devices projecting in the direction of transport. In the direction changing position of the conveyor is located a folding device rotating about a vertical shaft for folding the rear closing flap. The vertical shaft carries two diametrically opposite folding devices. One projects below the front closing flap and, with the help of a folding tool, brings it in a vertical position. The flap is folded down from the vertical position by the following stationary folding device. The folding device projecting below the rear flap is movable in a vertical direction in such a way that it is in a position close above the folding edge of the closing flap to fold it down during the rotating movement.
