PURPOSE:To obtain the electrocasting stamper which does not peel the substrate of a master disk and an electrocasting film at the time of electrocasting and polishing by using the master disk subjected to surface roughening in the outer peripheral part of the surface. CONSTITUTION:The stamper is produced by subjecting the master disk formed with the rugged patterns corresponding to the preformat of an optical recording medium to electrocasting. The master disk subjected to the surface roughening in the outer peripheral part of the surface is, thereupon, used. The electrocasting device is installed with an anode 102 and a cathode 101 facing each other in an electrocasting cell 103 filled with an electrocasting liquid 107. The anode 103 and the cathode 101 are energized to each other to cause the anode dissolution of a sample metal. The cathode 101 forms the electrocasting film by reducing the sample metal. As a result, at the time of the peeling of conductive ring and the peeling of the electrocasting film from the master disk is prevented.
