PURPOSE:To provide a socket for intercoupling thermoplastic resin pipes which can provide a coupling strength higher than a coupling force of thermoplastic resin and firmly intercouple resin pipes by performing integral coupling in a state that a coupling coil is embedded in an opposite peripheral surface part between the two resin pipes and the socket for a coupling. CONSTITUTION:Each of resin pipes 2 formed of thermoplastic resin 1 is inserted in the insertion hole of a socket 3 for coupling formed of thermoplastic resin 1. The end parts on the insertion side of the resin pipes 2 are brought into contact with each other in a position where the end parts on the insertion side are positioned opposite to a coupling coil 4 embedded in the insertion hole of the socket 3 for coupling. Thereafter, an opposite peripheral surface part between the resin pipes 2 and the socket 3 for coupling is heated and molten by means of the induction current of a high frequency induction coil and the coupling coil 4 is resiliently returned to an initial state through a resilient force. Simultaneously, the molten parts of the resin pipes 2 and the sockets 3 for coupling are integrally intercoupled through portions between the adjoining lines of the coupling coil 4, whereby the two resin pipes 2 are firmly intercoupled by means of the resilient force and the biting force of the coupling coil 4. |
