PURPOSE:To enclose superfine metallic particles with ceramics and to easily and independently capture by melting a metal by an arc discharge and melting together with ceramic coating layer provided on the inside wall of an arc furnace body. CONSTITUTION:The arc discharge is generated by anode 2 and cathode 3 disposed coolably in the arc furnace body 1 to melt and evaporate the metal ingot M. A buffer gas is blown to the metal vapor to form the superfine metallic particles. The inside wall of the arc furnace body 1 to be exposed to the arc discharge is previously provided with the ceramic coating layer 4 in the method. The metal M and the ceramic coating layer 4 are melted together during the arc discharge. The superfine metallic particles formed in such a manner are enclosed by the ceramics, by which the particles are prevented from sticking to each other. The particles are easily captured in the state of each one particle.
