PURPOSE:To provide a surface grinding method for band-shaped metal work, with which the grinding is conducted while grinding rolls are in oscillation, to yield a product free from deep grinding texture and having excellent surface property by permitting the fore and the rear grinding roll to oscillate in the opposite phases. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of grinding rolls are arranged to form a processing line which grinds a band-shaped metal work continuously, wherein the surface of the work 1 is double ground while adjoining grinding rolls A, B at least in one pair are oscillated in the same amplitude in such a way that their axial directions intersect perpendicularly the work advancing direction 2 and are opposite one another. This can yield a product having excellent surface property and with no unevenness in its luster. |
