PURPOSE:To make the formats of files continuous at their connection point even if format information in continuity relation is altered in an editing process by providing a storage means and a specifying means. CONSTITUTION:Document data are passed by a control means 2-1 to a page processing means 2-2 and assigned, page by page. Page information on the assignment result is stored in the storage means 2-3 (main memory) and a page indicated by the control means 2-1 is displayed by a display means 2-4 (CRT display part). Commands are inputted and the display page is indicated through an input means 2-5, and the control means 2-1 analyzes them to control a page processing means 2-2 and a display control means 2-4. Namely, the storage means 2-3 is stored with plural document files together with format information that the document files have uniquely and when the specifying means specifies two document files, 2nd document file information is updated with format information on the final page of the 1st document file. |
