PURPOSE:To obtain a silicone resin having coating property and excellent hardening characteristics and thermal stability after hardened by constituting the resin of copolymers of at least two specified monomer units. CONSTITUTION:This silicone resin consists of copolymers of at least two monomers selected from a monomer unit expressed by formula I, monomer unit expressed by formula II, and monomer unit expressed by formula III. In formulae I-III, R represents verious tertiary alkyl groups such as -C(CH3)3, -C(C2H5)3, and-(CH3)2, or 1-alkylphenyl groups or 1,1-dialkylphenethyl groups such as alpha-phenethyl group. The silanol content (by mol% expressed by OR/(OR+ OH) in the copolymer) is 10-90mol%. By this method, the obtd. silicone resin consists of such copolymers having a structural part in which a silanol is partially protected in the form of Si-O-R. |
