PURPOSE:To enlarge a dynamic range in a signal detection area, and to improve a picture detecting capability by varying an amplification factor for each picture element. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric conversion element 1 photoelectric-converts an objective image into a photoelectric current signal, and a charge/voltage converting part 2 stores and converts the photoelectric current signal into a voltage signal. Then, a first monitor part 3 monitors the output of the charge/voltage converting part 2, a second monitor part 4 monitors the maximum value among the voltage of the capacitor of the finally connected charge/voltage converting part 2, and a third monitor part 5 monitors a time spent since the start of the integrating time of the photoelectric currents of the photoelectric conversion element 1. Moreover, a charge/voltage conversion switching part 6 stores the photoelectric current signal according to the output of the first monitor part 3, successively switches a switch element so that the capacity of the capacitor can be increased, and a charge/voltage switching storage part 8 stores the switching state. Then, an integration control part 7 ends an integrating operation when the outputs of the second and third monitor parts 4 and 5 reach prescribed values, and an output correcting part 9 corrects the output of the photoelectric conversion element 1. |
