The covering is esp. for footpaths, bridleways, bicycle tracks, and pathways in parks. In a first stage of laying, a layer of timber chippings is applied to the ground, esp. soil. This layer is then rolled. The chippings have a length of 4-10 cm, and are mfd. from waste timber. The covering can be renewed in case of wear or soiling, by loosening and shaking, and subsequent rolling. USE/ADVANTAGE - Wooden covering material for paths and squares is simple to lay and does not required complicated machinery. The material is cheap, environmentally friendly, easy to obtain, and can be recycled.
