摘要 The system has two spaced apart lambda probes (9,10) in an exhaust section (7) of a vehicle IC engine (1). A fault signal is produced on deviation of two signals (U lambda 1, U lambda 2) from each other, occurring exclusively due to a rise of the oxygen concn.. The comparison measurement (11) of the lambda signals, results during the suction phase of the engine performance graph. A non-erasable diagnosis signal is produced as a fault signal. One of the lambda probes (9) is arranged as near as possible to the outlet valve (6) of the IC engine. The second lambda probe (10) is arranged as near as possible before a three way catalyser (8). ADVANTAGE - Detects sealing defects in exhaust gas system, for optimal combustion and cleaning of exhaust gases in 3-way catalyser.
