The invention relates to a steering column switch in which a control lever (26) is fitted to rotate in a carrier (14), the carrier (14) in turn being able to rotate transversely to the plane of movement of the lever in the switch housing (10). The control lever (26) can pivot about two axes in succession which are allocated to the actuation of corresponding switches. It is the aim of the invention to improve the actuation of the switch and especially to increase the number of possible switching operations. In principle, the invention consists in inserting suitable limiting components (150, 154) into the lever which reduce wear on the lever through switching actuations. A further way of attaining the aim consists in suitably designing the longitudinal aperture used to pivot the lever around two axes and arranging the switching positions in the best possible way.
