Tined conveyor for reciprocating pick=up baler - has tines in sets pivoting together to form rakes and controlled by irregular cam tracks

The conveyor (7) delivers the crop gathered from the ground through an inlet (9) into the baling passage (6) in synchronism with the movements of the baling piston (10). The tines engaging with the crop form horizontal rakes (22, 23) at right angles to the transport direction and travel round closed fixed tracks, their spindles (26, 27) being driven by cranks and travelling round an axis of rotation (21). The tines forming each rake pivot together and are controlled by irregular cam tracks as they travel round the axis of rotation, turning in the process for a complete revolution in the opposite direction to that in which the cranks turn on the axis of rotation. There can be a cross-member supporting the tines of each rake, turning freely on the cranks and coaxial to the spindle (26, 27). The cranks turn with a driving shaft (20) on the axis of rotation.
