The washing and rinsing processes are controlled dependent upon the ascertained degree of dirtiness in the water. During the commencement phase of the washing or rinsing processes, a measurement and evaluation process is used during a specific time period to assess the degree of dirtiness in the water and then after a further specific time the measurement and evaluation process is repeated. From each of the two measurement processes a measurement value is deduced of the energy used for a determined operating section. After evaluation of these measurment values the energy-favourable evolution of the washing or rinsing processes is determined and effected. The increase in washing or rinsing water temp. occurs after a firmly predetermined or deduced time point. USE/ADVANTAGE - To automate the washing programme in a washing or dishwashing machines so that energy usage is minimal with optimal washing results.
