A grinder for reducing scrap products, such as pieces of sprue, occurring in the injection moulding of plastic articles, comprises a conveying device in the form of a helical spring (9), which transports the scrap products from a feed opening (2) to a grinding mechanism (5) and is housed in a barrel (1) rotatably about the longitudinal axis. The flexibility of the spring (9) avoids the possibility of the hands or fingers of an operator being pinched between spring and barrel (1).
