The silencer is made up of an external cylindrical duct (10) and of partitions (12,14,16) that are in the form of collars that are set at right angles to the axis of the conduit. The internal edge (12a,14a,16a) of the collars define a central passageway for the air flow. Between consecutive collars (12,14) are fitted spacers (18,20,22) that define between them annular expansion zones (24,26) for the air flow. Use/Advantage - Silencer for the reduction of noise produced by the flow of air through ducts in air conditioning systems that is not prone to bacteriological build up.
