PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device which forms an image having high quality with a small-capacity image memory. CONSTITUTION:An image data signal 16 from an image data memory 10 is separated into binary image data and half-tone image data in a demultiplexer 17 by an image discrimination signal 15 from an image discrimination memory 11, and binary image data are processed in a binary data image expanding part 18, and half-tone image data are processed in a half-tone data expanding part 19, and they are synthesized into an image expanding signal 21 by a multiplexer 20. In half-tone image data, not only 150DPI hexadecimal data are converted into 300DPI 256 gradations by the half-tone data expanding part but also conversion of the half-tone level corresponding to the image array and expansion processing are performed by image array information 22 in the case of the presence of picture elements whose half-tone level cannot be reproduced. |
