PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed by omitting the drawing of individual fine figures in a fine figure group included in object data and to prevent the fidelity and precision of the whole image from decreasing by drawing a substitute figure. CONSTITUTION:The layout pattern 11 of a semiconductor integrated circuit is drawn as an initial screen 10 of a CRT display and when the fine figure group 15 is formed of plural fine figures 20 in a specific range, the fine figures 20 are not drawn and their substitute figure 35 is drawn in a frame buffer at the time of a redrawing process after figure operation. Namely, the fine figures 20 are not redrawn in the layout pattern 31 on a redrawing screen 30 after the figure operation and the specific rectangular substitute figure 35 is drawn instead. On a drawing screen like this, the position and range of the fine figure group 15 are made clear with the substitute figure 35, so the fidelity and precision of the layout pattern are prevented from decreasing and the processing time can be shortened. |
