PURPOSE:To enhance the stability of an arc when the arc length is extended to enhance voltage. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electrodes 1 are symmetrically arranged around a standard line vertical to a counter electrode. each electrode 1 is connected to one DC power source 2. To carry equal currents to the electrodes 1, the distance from each electrode 1 to the counter electrode 4 is controlled by raising and lowering each electrode 1. Arcs A generated from the electrodes 1 are mutually attracted and stabilized.
