PURPOSE:To reduce an exhaust amount of harmful substance by controlling an output of an engine and a field current of a generator if engine components are low temperature, setting the output and the speed of the engine to predetermined values, and warming up the engine. CONSTITUTION:When the temperatures of the components of the engine 24 of a hybrid vehicle are low, the output of the engine 24 and the field current of a generator 22 are controlled, and not only the output of the engine but also the speed at that time are controlled to predetermined values. Thus, the efficiency and exhaust gas amount of the engine 24 can be set to predetermined values, and temperature rises of the engine 24 and the components of the engine 24, such as a catalytic converter 42 can be effectively executed. Thus, time of warm-up of the engine 24 is shortened, and a total exhaust amount of harmful substances can be decreased. |
