The parts (4) are made of a cured mixt. of crushed, elastic, recycled rubber (I) and an elastic, plastic binder (II). The above mixt. pref. contains 100-200 pts. t. (I) and 5-70 pts. wt. (II), pref. a 1-component plastic, esp. low-viscosity polyurethane (PU) resin, or a 2-component plastic, esp. polyester or epoxy resin and hardener, or polyol and isocyanate. (I) is pref. in the form of fibre, granules or chips with particle size 0.2-8.0mm. Parts (4) are pref. in the form of square blocks, slabs or strips, pref prefabricated. Pref. (4) may also be made up of separate parts, and may be produced in situ by a moulding process. Pref. (4) (or the separate parts may be reinforced and also have grooves, and the separate parts of (4) are joined by interlocking, pref. by the reinforcement. Pref. (4) are made watertight or impermeable to water. USE/ADVANTAGE - Parts (4) provide effective insulation from sound and from vibrations due to soil movements or traffic, with insulation from moisture (e.g for electrical insulation in bathrooms, kitchens, etc.) The parts are insensitive to frost and may be produced from recycled rubber.
