INSTRUMENT FOR ANALYZING CELL IN URINE

PURPOSE:To obtain an instrument for automatically analyzing cells in urine using flow cytophotometry. CONSTITUTION:The title instrument is constituted in such a way that scattered light and fluorescence from various kinds of cells contained in a urine sample are detected by flow cytophotometry and scattered light intensity data and fluorescent intensity data are found from the scattered light and fluorescence. Then, the scattered light is converted into pulse signals and the pulse width of the signals is converted into cell diameter data in accordance with known cell diameters. In addition, the cells contained in the urine sample are automatically classified and counted by storing in advance actually measured data indicating the feature of each kind of cell as cell discriminating values and analyzing the data of detected cells in accordance with the stored cell discriminating values.
