PURPOSE:To improve the flexibility of operation by permitting log-in/out to a server and power-on/off of a client device at an arbitrary time even during the processing request to the server. CONSTITUTION:Each of client devices CLT connected to a LAN as the communication network is provided with a means REQ which requests the processing to the server, a means INQ which inquires of the server about the processing condition and the processing result, and a means RCV which receives the processing result from the server. On the other hand, a server device SRV connected to the LAN is provided with a means ACP which accepts processing requests and inquiries about processing conditions from clients, a means INF which reports processing results and processing conditions to clients, and a processing result holding means. The client can be disconnected from the server without waiting for the processing result after the processing request from a client to the server; and if it is disconnected, it is connected to the server to obtain the result later. |
