[Class 65 (ii)] A door hinge is made adjustable by providing one of the hinge members on a bracket which is mounted on the door or frame so as to be capable of movement transverse to the hinge axis in the plane of the door or frame and of pivotal movement about an axis perpendicular to that plane, means being provided for effecting these movements and for clamping the bracket in its adjusted position. In the form shown, the lower hinge pin 11 for an oven door is carried on a bracket 16 which is provided with a slot hole, lying longitudinally of the bracket, to receive a set-screw 41 and a broader slot, lying transversely of the bracket, to receive a bush 38 with a hexagonal head and an eccentric hole for a set-screw 42. When the set-screws are slackened, rotation of the bush 38, by a tool engaging its hexagonal head, will cause the bracket 16 to move longitudinally to right or left and also to tilt slightly about the set-screw 41, after which the screws can be tightened again to hold the bracket in its adjusted position. In place of, or in addition to, the slot directly engaging the set-screw 41, the bracket may have one or more bushes on set-screws, similar to 38, engaging slots in the bracket so as to produce either longitudinal or transverse movement of the latter. The bracket may lie parallel to the hinge axis, and may be extended to carry both the hinge pins of a door. |
