PURPOSE:To attain a document confirming and editing operation while grasping the relative position of a document by always displaying a number added to a rectangular area segmented by a segmenting means in the visible range of a screen. CONSTITUTION:A character reader is equipped with an image scanner 1, Chinese character OCR unit 2 being a main body which recognizes a character, and personal computer 3 which displays a character string recognized by the Chinese character OCR unit 2 on the screen and operates the conversion, edition, and storage of a text. Then, a means which moves or enlarges/reduces a document picture displayed by the display means (CRT) 6 is included, and even when the area on the screen is moved or enlarged/reduced, the number 1-3 of the area added by a number display means is always displayed in the visible range of the screen. Therefore, an operator can always know which frame corresponds to which number. |
