摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a controller which estimates the shift quantity of a driver in collision without using a deceleration speed signal supplied from a deceleration speed sensor including a large variation portion and determines the accurate operation timing of a occupant restraining device. CONSTITUTION:A controller for a occupant restraining device is equipped with a shift quantity calculating means 101 which calculates the relative shift quantity of a driver for a vehicle after collision on the basis of the deceleration speed detected by a deceleration speed detecting means 100, shift quantity estimating means 102 which sets the secondary function of the time which shows the variation of the shift quantity of the driver on the basis of the calculated shift quantity at present and the shift quantity before a prescribed time and estimates the shift quantity of the driver after a prescribed time, and an operation time point determining means 103 for determining the time point for operating the occupant restraining device on the basis of the estimated shift quantity.
