The gate valve has upper- and lower blocks which secure the two gate sections between them. The upstream side of the valve has flushing holes (9) which clear the gate guides when the valve is open. The flushing holes can be cleaned by the main flow or via separate flushing line connections. They prevent build-up of material in otherwise closed spaces.
