<p>A valve plate assembly (16) includes a flapper valve (18,20) and restraint (44,46) in recessed intake (40a,b) and outlet (42a,b) ports of a valve plate (16). The recessed ports (40,42) have guides (58,60) located therein corresponding to notched sections of the flapper valve (18,20) and the restraint (44,46) such that a foolproof method of assembly can be achieved. In addition, a screw clearance in the top of the piston (36) is not required since the recessed portion allows for the screw (56) to be at or below the surface of the valve plate (16). <IMAGE></p> |
