1,199,705. Dispensing capsules. OWENSILLINOIS Inc. 10 Feb., 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 7064/69. Heading B8T. A means for dispensing powders &c. comprises a container 10 and a rotatable closure 20. The neck 12 of the container has at least one groove 14 defining a passageway, inside the neck 12, and extending downwardly from the rim 13. The closure, held on the container by an annular bead 16 on the neck 12 engaging a flange on the closure skirt has a second skirt 26 which seals the groove 14 from the inside of the container. A hole 24 in the top panel is normally sealed by the rim 13. On rotation of the closure 20 a rib 30 on the skirt 26, initially aligned in the groove 14, rides up an inclined cam surface (17), Fig. 5 (not shown), defining one side of the groove 14 which forces the part of the inner skirt adjacent the groove away from its sealing position on the inside of the neck. The rotation also places the hole 24 over the groove so that the container contents can pass into the groove and out through the hole. |
