PURPOSE:To surely detect every sheet even though the sheet is carried in a state where an interval between the sheets is made minimum or adjacent sheets are somewhat superposed. CONSTITUTION:A specified image 5 is formed at the leading edge Pa or the trailing edge Pb in the carrying direction of the sheet P carried through the sheet carrying path 14 of an image forming device, and detected by the sensor 3 of a specified image detecting means 2 disposed corresponding to the passing position of the image, so that the position of the sheet P carried through the sheet carrying path 14 is detected. By such a method, every sheet is surely detected by detecting the specified image 5 even though the interval between the sheets is made minimum or the adjacent sheets P are somewhat superposed. |
