PURPOSE:To enhance luminous efficiency a DC type plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a rare earth element oxide with a conductive material is applied to an electrode to be a negative electrode 16. Since the rare earth element oxide has a high secondary electron emission coefficient to decrease a discharge voltage of the negative electrode 16, luminous efficiency P/VI (P:luminous output, V:voltage, I:current) is increased. When a phosphor layer is provided in an inner wall of a cell barrier, an area of a phosphor screen is enlarged and decrease of light quantity in transmission as in the case of a transmission type phosphor layer is eliminated, thereby providing increase of luminous output and further enhancement of luminous efficiency. |
