PURPOSE:To automatically update the content of common data without requiring to perform the retrieval operation of individual common data even when the common data exists in one document or extending over plural documents in a document processing device. CONSTITUTION:This system is comprised in such a manner that an external reference block in which the key information of data to be written is written on document data developed on a document edit buffer 13, and an external reference variable list on which real data in accordance with the key information is recorded is managed by a same document file 20, and the latest information of the real data is attached on an external variable data base 21, and the real data to be referred in a corresponding external reference variable list is updated based on the external variable data base 21 when the document data is read out from the document file 20, and the real data in accordance with the key information is substituted corresponding to an external reference block part in the document data, then, it is outputted to a display 18 and a printer 19. |
