PURPOSE: To maintain the duplicity of calculation processing by simulating the operations of at least one channel based on the detection of mismatching between channels in a multichannel calculation processing structure. CONSTITUTION: A double-channel calculating device is provided with processors 2 and 3 and storage devices 18 and 19 which are connected with the processors 2 and 3 and store the input data supplied to the processors 2 and 3 and arrival time of the data. The channels generate ostensibly same outputs to a comparator 8 which detects the mismatching point of time between the channels. When the comparator 8 detects the mismatching, software which simulates the operations of the channels is loaded on an external processor 12. A simulator to which the data in the storage devices 18 and 19 are supplied immediately before the detection of the mismatching simulates the operations of one channel by using the data and the output of the simulator is compared with the actual output of the channel recorded when the mismatching occurs in the comparator 8.
