A fused pyrazole compound of the formula <IMG> (I) wherein X is =N- or the like, R is hydrogen, alkyl or the like, Y' is a group of the formula <IMG> or the like, and Y2 is a group of the formula : -A2-B2 or the like, an optical isomer thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compound of the present invention has a platelet count recovery action and erythrocyte count recovery action, and is useful as an active ingredient for a pharmaceutical agent capable of accelerating recovery of decreased platelet count and erythrocyte count, which is caused by drug therapy and radiotherapy for the treatment of malignant tumor. The S-compound, which is an optically active compound of the Compound (1) of the present invention, has stimulating action on phagocytic activity of leukocyte, stimulating action on phagocytic activity of macrophage, leukocyte count recovery action, stimulating action on resistance to infection, antitumor action, immunological competence-improving action, as well as platelet count recovery action and erythrocyte count 6 8 recovery action, and is useful for an integrated treatment inclusive of potentiation of preventive action against infection and alleviation of myelosuppression, for the treatment of infectious diseases and malignant tumor. In addition, it is useful for various diseases caused by myelosuppression, such as aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, myelogeneous anemia, congenital or idiopathic neutropenia and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. 6 9
