Pyridyl derivs. of formula (I), their enantiomers, cis- and trans-isomers (if R4 and R5 together form a bond) and salts are new. In (I), n is 2-5; A is C-N bond or 1-4C linear alkylene (opt. substd. with 1-2 alkyl gps.); X is nitromethylene, cyanomethylene (opt. substd. with R9) or =NR10; Y is alkoxy, PhO, alkylthio, PhS or NR1R2. R1 is H, opt. branched 1-10C alkyl (opt. substd. in position 2, 3 or 4 with OH, NH2, alkylamino or dialkylamino), 1-4C alkyl (opt. substd. with Ph or pyridyl and opt. substd. in position 2, 3 or 4 with OH), 3-4C cycloalkyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl (in which an ethylene bridge is opt. replaced with o-phenylene), 6-8C bicyclo-alkyl (opt. substd. with 1-3 alkyl gps.), adamantyl, alkoxy or trimethylosilyl alkyl; R2 is H or lower alkyl; or R1 and R2 together with the N between them form 4-6C cyclic alkylene imino (opt. substd. with 1-2 alkyl gps. or 1 Ph and in which an ethylene bridge in position 3, 4 is opt. replaced with o-phenylene), morpholino or piperazino (opt. substd. in position 4 with 1-3C alkyl or Ph); R3 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R4 and R5 are each H or together form a C-C bond; R6 is pyridyl (opt. substd. in position 3 or 4 with alkyl; R7 is CN, tetrazolyl, aminocarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl or a gp. which can be metabolically converted in vivo into COOH, or, if Y is NR1R2, R7 is COOH; R8 is H, F, Cl, Br, I, alkyl, alkoxy or CF3; R9 is R7, excluding tetrazolyl; R10 is CN, alkanesulphonyl, phenylsulphonyl, phenylalkanesulphonyl, aminosulphonyl, alkylaminosulphonyl, dialkylaminosulphonyl, phenylcarbonyl, aminocarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, or dialkylaminocarbonyl; all alkyl and alkoxy gps., unless stated otherwise, contain 1-3C; all Ph rings, unless stated otherwise, are opt. substd. with 1-2 gps. chosen from F, Cl, Br, alkyl, OH, alkoxy, Ph, NO2, NH2, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkanoylamino, CN, COOH, alkoxycarbonyl, aminocarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl, CF3, alkanoyl, aminosulphonyl, alkylaminosulphonyl or dialkylaminosulphonyl. |
