<p>At the present time, silk-screens are used to apply decorations to tiles in the ceramic industry. The decoration to be transferred to a tile is impressed on the silk-screen by a special process. The decoration is transferred automatically from the silk-screen to the tile by a machine which is called a screen-printing machine. In this fully automatic process, the operator has hitherto been obliged to intervene manually to carry out the periodic cleaning of the silk-screen, thus avoiding any defects in the decoration on the tiles. The device illustrated herein provides a fully automatic decorating station for ceramic tiles, by making use of a foam rubber pad which is operated mechanically and controlled electronically, with all the advantages which this yields. <IMAGE></p> |
