PURPOSE:To provide the subject refractory imparted with excellent slaking resistance without impairing its impurity adsorptivity. CONSTITUTION:The objective refractory whose binding part is made up from a B2O3 vitreous substance and CaO particles of <=0.3mm diameter, can be obtained by kneading and molding a mixture comprising (A) 2-35wt.% of CaO powder of <=0.3mm particle diameter, (B) 1-3wt.% of CaB6 powder having <=30mum particle diameter and (C) the rest of basic oxide aggragates together with a binder, followed by baking the resultant form at 780-1100 deg.C. Thereby, the B2O3 vitreous substance derived from the CaB6 imparts the final refractory with slaking resistance and the ultrafine CaO powder derived from the CaB6 further improves the impurity adsorptivity of the refractory. |
