PURPOSE:To obtain a method for rapidly and accurately detecting Epstein-Barr virus. CONSTITUTION:A mixture solution containing at least one of 4 combinations of the first DNA primer containing an oligonucleotide part of specific >=15 bases with the second DNA primer, a DNA polymerase and an aqueous liquid test sample is subjected to a DNA amplifying step and the resultant reactional solution is then subjected to a DNA inspecting step. Furthermore, at least one of four probes, containing an oligonucleotide part of specific >=10 bases and carrying a label is brought into contact with a test sample to detect a signal from the label.
