Novel alkyl sulphate salts of 1-(p-chlorobenzhydryl)-4-methylhomopiperazine of the general formula wherein R is a C 12-22 alkyl group, are prepared by reaction of 1-(p-chlorobenzhydryl)-4-methylhomopiperazine with a sodium C 12-22 alkyl sulphate. Pharmaceutical compositions having antihistaminic and bronchodilating activity comprise, as active ingredient, an alkyl sulphate salt of 1 - (p - chlorobenzhydryl) - 4 - methyl -homopiperazine of the above general formula, together with a pharmaceutical carrier, may be administered orally.
