PURPOSE:To prevent nozzle clogging caused by stickness of alumina to the inner wall of a nozzle for casting by forming the casting nozzle with a material having a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:In the selection of the composition of the nozzle, under consideration of the service life of a tundish 1 and the service life of a sliding nozzle 3, the one containing 40-80wt.% zircon, 10-40% silica, 10-20% alumina and 5-30% carbon is used. Wherein, the zircon has the effect on the improvement of erosion resistance of the nozzle and the prevention from stickness of alumina, and the silica makes low m.p. material and the alumina improves the erosion resistance of the nozzle, and the carbon has the effect to the heat shock resistance and infiltration resistance to slag. Therefore, in the continuous casting of a steel, the nozzle clogging is reduced at the time of multisequential operation, and the stable operation and the improvement of productivity are obtd. |
