PURPOSE:To provide the subject strain belonging to Pseudomonas, having high lipase productivity, capable of producing a lipase which gives high degradable activity on animal and vegetable fatty oil at elevated temperatures under weak alkalinity and is used e.g. in the detergent additives for dishwasher/dryers. CONSTITUTION:Research was made to explore such microorganisms as to be capable of extracellularly producing a lipase maintaining high activity at elevated temperatures under alkalinity, and it has been found that Pseudomonas sp. S-10-071 strain (FERM P-12575) separated from the soil in the marshland at the summit of Mt Naeba, Minami Uonuma District, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, satisfies the above requirement and is capable of producing a highly active lipase. By culture of this strain, the objective lipase can be obtained, which has the following characteristics: (1) having high degradable activity on animal and vegetable fatty oil at elevated temperatures under weakly alkaline reaction conditions; (2) having activity in a nonionic surfactant solution; (3) stable pH range: 3-10.5; (4) active optimal pH: 5-7; (5) active temperature: 50-70 deg.C; (6) not deactivating under treatment at 50 deg.C for 2hr; and (7) molecular weight: 37000 (determined by SDS-PAGE method). |
